Is everyone on the QB rollercoaster? With dominoes falling left, right and center, the Jets options at QB are thinning every hour. After the Browns decided to release RG3 after trading for Brock Osweiler, sources seem to suggest he's interested in playing for the Jets.
But the former Rookie of the Year is intrigued by the possibility of playing for the quarterback-needy Jets, according to a person familiar with Griffin's thinking. The person requested anonymity because he isn't authorized to speak for Griffin.
Now, lets be honest. Of course RG3 is interested in playing for the Jets, he's not going to have too many suitors and the Jets offer him the best opportunity to play on Sundays. However that doesn't mean the Jets have mutual interest.
RG3 visited with the Jets last year before signing with the Browns, whereas the Jets signed Ryan Fitzpatrick, I think it's safe to say that nobody won in that situation.
RG3 was rookie of the year when he burst onto the scene in 2012, throwing for over 3000 yards and 20 TD's, as well as rushing for over 800 yards and 7 more TD's. However since suffering a ACL and LCL injury in the playoffs of that same year, Griffin has never been able to return to his previous heights.
Last year he appeared in 5 games, completing under 60% of his passes for 2 TD's and 3 INT's. The year before he did complete 68.6% of his 214 attempts, but again threw more interceptions (6) than Touchdowns (4).
Honestly, I don't see the point in bringing in RG3, whatever magic he had...disappeared a long time ago.
