Free agency hits its second official day today as teams revamp their rosters for 2017. A lot of big moves have been made, and many of them seem questionable. We aren’t yet at the point of buyer’s remorse on those yet. That will not come for a few months.
The Jets made a number of internal moves. Marcus Williams and Wesley Johnson were given second round tenders as restricted free agents. Corey Lemonier was re-signed. That is no typo. He was re-signed. Yes, he was on the team at the end of last season. The Jets also gave lucrative new contracts to Ben Ijalana and Josh Martin. Well, they were lucrative relative to what little these players have actually done in their respective careers.
There have been no outside additions yet. The Jets have been linked to numerous players but not able to land anybody yet. The team is still in the search for a 2017 quarterback. Jay Cutler seems to be the hot rumor to begin the day.
Will he be the most likely candidate by the end of the day? This thread has the GGN Twitter widget embedded to provide updates.
