Positives

  • Only AVG arm strength
  • Doesn’t do anything exceptional

  • Throws a fluttery ball that allows defenders to run under it.

Conclusion

Cooper Rush is a quarterback prospect that every quarterback hungry team needs to look at. A lot of general managers prefer that the quarterbacks they draft have enough experience, and looks like they can transition to the pro game. Rush is a 4 year starter in a pro style offence. With those boxes checked, we can look at his technique and measurables. He has the NFL size teams look for, and for the most part, is technically sound. He does need to become more consistent with his decision making, and pass rush awareness. Our QB situations is pretty bleak. As of right now, we don’t have any starting quality quarterbacks on our roster for next year. Bryce Petty has underwhelmed, and Christian Hackenberg isn’t ready to get meaningful snaps. If the Jets do decide to take a QB, but don’t want to spend a really high pick, Rush could be good option. Because of the pro style offense he plays in, he is more pro ready than either of the guys we already have.
