SB Nation draft expert Dan Kadar has released another mock, but this one has a little twist. He's tried to incorporate a few trades that could happen and the Jets selection changes as a result.
I know a lot of you are probably hoping that in this scenario the Jets traded down to stockpile a few picks. With the draft as deep as it is, I wouldn't be against that strategy at all. However unfortunately, the Jets are still selecting at number 6.
However, this mock predicts that the Titans and Panthers make a deal for the number 5 selection. The sole purpose of that trade? To enable to Panthers to leapfrog the Jets and select LSU star Leonard Fournette.
6. New York Jets: Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida State
The Jets may miss out on Fournette in this scenario, but Cook isn’t a bad consolation prize. He’s a good all-around back that the Jets can use in a variety of ways.
I have no problem with Cook, you can read my scouting report on the Florida State prospect by clicking right HERE.
However I've been very outspoken in relation to my regard for Jamal Adams the LSU safety who can do it all, and will lead by example every step of the way. In this scenario, I'd prefer to take Adams and then hit on a RB later, considering just how deep this class is and I still think we haven't seen the best of Bilal Powell yet either.
Saying that, Cook is a tremendous talent...so I wouldn't be complaining if we ended up with his services going forward.
