Jets Productivity Review: Inside Linebackers

Today we're looking at the productivity of Jets inside linebackers in 2016.

All figures given are numbers per 100 snaps. Special teams snaps are not included in the calculations. For comparison purposes each position chart will list at the bottom the figures for a Pro Football Focus 2016 All Pro at the position.

Four Jets inside linebackers played more than 150 defensive snaps in the 2016 season: David Harris, Darron Lee, Erin Henderson and Julian Stanford.  Henderson began the year as a starter at inside linebacker before leaving the team after six games due to unspecified non-football related reasons.  Darron Lee took over for Henderson as a starter.

The one thing that stands out in the inside linebacker productivity numbers for the Jets is how ineffective Julian Stanford was in his limited opportunities. That is not unexpected.  Stanford was not expected to take many defensive snaps, buried deep on the depth chart.  Fortune smiled on Stanford when Henderson left the team and Lee had some injury problems. Stanford had one nice game, then tailed off badly.  Sometimes you get lucky and discover a hidden gem due to a player being forced into action unexpectedly.  Stanford is probably not one of those hidden gems.

The other three inside linebackers who saw significant action were all fairly similar in their productivity numbers.  None had numbers close to star level play.

The bottom figures in the chart are for Pro Football Focus All Pro Bobby Wagner, for the sake of comparison against one of the best.  You can see Jets inside linebacker really don't measure up to the best in the business.

Here is the productivity chart for all Jets inside linebackers.  Bask in the glory of the chart.
