Jets Week 13 Game Ball: Jermaine Kearse

The Jets won yesterday, which means we have the joyful task of giving out the game ball.

As always, we try to follow the rules of the game ball. Whenever possible, we try to avoid giving it to the quarterback or repeat winners.

I think we could be forgiven for breaking the quarterback rule this week. Josh McCown was absolutely stellar in the victory. There is, however, another worthy candidate so we will go in a different direction.

Jermaine Kearse had his finest game as a Jet. Feasting from the slot, Kearse tallied 9 catches for 157 yards. Six of his nine receptions went for first downs. Three of those came in clutch spots on third down.

The Jets beat the Chiefs mainly because of their passing game on a day when the defense allowed 31 points and over 10 yards per play. Kearse was the best part of that passing game. That is why he gets my game ball.

Who gets yours?
