The Jets were struggling heading into their game against Kansas City on Sunday. New York had lost five of six games going in. The victory helped to settle things down a bit for the team.
It did not, however, help the Jets much in the conference’s Playoff race. New York is still in 11th place in the AFC pending the result of the Monday Night Football game between the Steelers and the Bengals.
Of the teams ahead of the Jets in the race for the final Wild Card spot, Baltimore, Los Angeles, and Oakland won. Only the Buffalo Bills lost (to New England).
To make the Playoffs, the Jets probably will need to win out and get a lot of help along the way. The good news is this team is still playing meaningful football as we get deeper into December.
The current standings in the AFC are posted below for your reading pleasure.
