Tomorrow’s regular season finale between the Jets and the Patriots has implications for both teams.
The Jets are not going to make the Playoffs in 2017, but their position in the NFL Draft is currently unsettled. A loss improves the team’s chances of getting a higher pick.
The Patriots are playing for postseason seeding. With a win tomorrow, New England clinches the top spot in the AFC, guaranteeing homefield advantage throughout the Playoffs. A loss coupled with a Steelers win drops the Patriots to the second seed, possibly forcing them to play the AFC Championship Game on the road in Pittsburgh. Beating the Steelers there a second time in two months would be no easy task.
While understanding the stakes are not quite that simplistic, I present a question to you. What would you prefer? Would you rather see the Jets get a better Draft pick or knock the Patriots out of the top seed in the AFC?
