Leonard Williams was among a number of key Jets who did not practice on Wednesday. The defensive lineman left Sunday’s game against the Chargers with a back injury, and it kept him out of the first practice of the week. As a meaningless game approaches, the Jets will likely take a conservative approach with their 2015 first round pick. The goal should be to have him entering the offseason as healthy as possible. There isn’t any reason for him to see the field unless he is 100%.
Williams wasn’t the only starter to sit out practice on Wednesday. Robby Anderson, Morris Claiborne, Matt Forte, Jermaine Kearse, Austin Seferian-Jenkins, and Brandon Shell all did not practice. Only time will tell how serious these ailments are. The guys who miss practice on Thursday are the ones to be concerned about.
