Jets Week 14 Anti-Game Ball: Morris Claiborne

NFL: New York Jets at Denver Broncos Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

The Jets lost on Sunday, which makes it our sad duty to give out an anti-game ball.

As always, we do our best to avoid giving the anti-game ball to the quarterback or to repeat recipients.

It is tough to believe that the anti-game ball will not go to somebody on offense in a game where the Jets gained just 100 total yards. It easily could have gone to the offensive line for another dreadful performance. The line has already received two anti-game balls this season. With that in mind, we will go in a different direction.

Morris Claiborne had a dreadful game for the Jets. Pro Football Focus tabulated he was responsible for 8 catches for 103 yards and 1 touchdown in coverage. That goes with a multiple penalties.

Claiborne wasn’t just getting beaten one way either. He kept finding new ways to lose his assignment whether it was not finding the ball in the air, getting beaten clean on a route, giving too much cushion, or whiffing on a tackle after the catch. There are some positions where you can play a poor game and escape notice. Cornerback is not one of those positions.

Claiborne gets my anti-game ball for Week 14. Who gets yours?
