It is no surprise, but Jets head coach Todd Bowles confirmed today veteran quarterback Josh McCown will remain in the starting lineup for the time being.
On if he anticipates sticking with Josh McCown as the starting quarterback for the rest of the season…
He’s playing well right now. Josh is our quarterback.
I understand why he was asked the question, but Bowles has been pretty consistent that McCown is his quarterback for better or worse. I understand the desire for change with the team 4-7 and the Playoffs looking like a remote possibility. I even agree with a number of the arguments people make for the Jets to change to Bryce Petty.
It just probably isn’t going to happen barring something dramatic like an injury or official elimination from postseason contention. Only then will we see some movement.
