Matt Forte missed practice today for the Jets while Morris Claiborne was limited with his lingering foot injury. Head coach Todd Bowles had the following to say about the two player
On the status of Claiborne…
He’s getting better. If he has a couple more good days without any pain, he’s got a chance.
On his level of concern about Forté’s injury…
You’re concerned about it but we have to play the guys we’ve got. When he comes out and he’s ready, he’ll be ready to go. But until then, Bilal (Powell) and Eli (McGuire) will pick up most of his plays.
On if he is concerned that if Claiborne could play and have to be taken out due to injury again, similar to what took place at Tampa Bay…
No, that could happen at any time at any one of our positions. You have to play. We have to trust him. He has to tell us the truth. We have to evaluate him on our own and we’ll go from there.
On if he would be okay if Claiborne plays at less than 100 percent…
It all depends on how well he practices. I don’t go okay by his mouth. I go okay by how he does. If he moves well, he’ll play. If he doesn’t, he won’t.
