With the injuries to Matt Forte and Bilal Powell, Elijah McGuire steeped into the primary running back role for the Jets on Sunday against the Browns. McGuire saw 36 snaps on offense, participating in 68% of the plays. Depending on the status of the other backs, McGuire might get a starting role soon. The question might be whether he can play well enough to never give it back.
Elsewhere on offense, Austin Seferian-Jenkins got 83% of the snaps on offense for the Jets, 44 total.
Lawrence Thomas, now a full-fledged fullback only saw action on 9 snaps. Such is life in the NFL offense of 2017.
ArDarius Stewart played 11 snaps, while Chad Hansen got a cup of coffee with a pair of plays.
The starting offensive linemen and Josh McCown were the six Jets to play the entire game on offense for the Jets in Week 5.
Full snap totals are below.
