Jets Waive TE Neal Sterling

The New York Jets have waived tight end Neal Sterling. Sterling played in three games for the Jets this year. He ends his Jets career with one reception for eight yards.

The Jets also cut tight end Will Tye earlier this week. That leaves Austin Seferian-Jenkins and rookie Jordan Leggett as the only move tight ends on the Jets roster, with Eric Tomlinson holding down the blocking tight end role. This could be an indication Leggett is nearly ready to return to action after many weeks of being out with a knee injury.
