Sunday Night Football, Week 8. Tonight the Pittsburgh Steelers take their best in the AFC 5-2 record record to Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan to face the 3-3 Detroit Lions.
The Steelers come into the game winners of three of their last four games. As usual the Steelers are fielding a tough defense, currently ranked 2nd in the NFL. The offense has gradually rounded into shape as Le'Veon Bell has shaken off some early season rust and returned to his usual dominant form. With quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, wide receiver Antonio Brown and running back Le'Veon Bell all potential Hall of Fame players the Steelers boast the best such threesome in the NFL.
The Lions, losers of three of their last four games, will try to keep pace with the Steelers, led by quarterback Matthew Stafford. The Lions have struggled to run the ball in 2017, with leading running back Ameer Abdullah averaging less than 60 yards rushing per game and the Lions as a team averaging only 3.5 yards per carry. The passing game features wide receivers Golden Tate and Marvin Jones, neither of whom is having a particularly good year.
On paper this one looks like a mismatch. The Steelers are a significantly better team on offense and on defense, at least on paper. Nonetheless, this has been an unpredictable season thus far, and an upset tonight by the Lions at home would hardly be a shocker.
Enjoy the game everybody. As always we ask that you neither ask for nor post illegal streaming links.
