Early in the fourth quarter of today’s game, it looked like the Jets were on their way to a convincing road victory and a sweep of the Miami Dolphins.
What followed was an utter collapse. The Jets blew a 14 point fourth quarter lead and lost to the Miami Dolphins 31-28 in South Florida.
The big culprits on the defensive side of the ball were Buster Skrine and Darron Lee. The culprit on virtually every big play the Dolphins made in the comeback was Skrine or Lee. On some plays, both were to blame.
On offense, Josh McCown threw one of the most boneheaded interceptions you will ever see late in the fourth quarter to set up the winning field goal for Miami. There is some irony in this. When the Jets were winning, McCown was getting credit despite playing pretty poor football. In today’s loss, McCown played a really good game overall accounting for 4 touchdowns. All anybody will remember, however, is the terrible interception in the key spot.
Mourn below. We will have more later.
