Starting right tackle Brandon Shell sat Sunday’s game against Jacksonville out with an injury. Brent Qvale filled in for him, playing all 70 snaps. Todd Bowles indicated either Qvale or Ben Ijalana could get the job in place of Shell. You might remember the duo actually split snaps at right tackle early last season when Breno Giacomini missed time. For Week 4 at least, Qvale appears to be the option in place of Shell.
In other news, Lawrence Thomas continued to see two-way duty. He got 12 more snaps on the offensive side of the ball as a fullback.
