NY Jets Helmet Stickers: Week 5

NFL: New York Jets at Cleveland Browns Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

The Jets officially on a winning streak. This has come off two very impressive wins and...another win. This week was the non-impressive one, though there were still standouts. Here are my three:

Bronze Star: Jermaine Kearse (4 catches, 38 yards, 1 TD)

The top two stars really outplayed everyone else last week. I didn’t have a lot of options for the bronze, but someone had to get it. Kearse caught all 4 of his targets, which included the game-clinching touchdown. It was a relatively uncontested touchdown and he only accounted for 38 yards, but he still gets a star.

Silver Star: LB Demario Davis (6 tackles, 1 Sack)

While Davis didn’t post gaudy tackles numbers, he had an excellent game against his former team. In addition to recording a sack and multiple TFLs, Demario Davis filled the right holes and played an all around good game. He was also mostly responsible for a poor throw that led to the interception that helped the Jets pull away.

Gold Star: S Marcus Maye (4 tackles, 1 PD, 1 INT)

Maye hasn’t gotten all of the recognition that Adams has thus far, but he’s quietly played extremely well so far. After a rough first outing, he’s been an excellent complement to our other young safety. Against the Browns, he caught an INT in the redzone and helped hold the Browns to only 7 points before a late game hiccup. Maye could be the first second round pick the Jets have hit on since...it’s too far back to remember.

So there you go. After five weeks, the point totals are as follows:

Jamal Adams 5 points (1 gold, 1 silver)

Jermaine Kearse 5 points (1 gold, 2 bronze)

Kony Ealy 4 points (2 silver)

Demario Davis 4 points (2 silver)

Marcus Maye 3 points (1 gold)

Brandon Shell 3 points (1 gold)

Bilal Powell 3 points (1 gold)

Chandler Catanzaro 1 point (1 bronze)

Terrence Brooks 1 point (1 bronze)

Leonard Williams 1 point (1 bronze)
