The Jets are back in action today for an early afternoon kickoff against the Jacksonville Jaguars. New York got its first victory of the year last week. Now there is an opportunity to go on an actual winning streak. As Brian Costello of the New York Post noted earlier in the week, it would be the first winning streak for their starting quarterback since 2004.
The Jaguars come into the game with a 2-1 record fresh off a demolition of the Ravens in London. This generally has the feel of a letdown week, but the same could be said of the Jets off a blowout victory against the Dolphins.
Any hope the Jets have of surprising people in 2017 likely rides on winning this game. If the Jets fall to 1-3, it is easy to see the losses snowballing and the season falling out of control rather quickly.
