According to Adam Caplan, the Jets will sign former Calgary Stampeders outside linebacker Frank Beltre.

He's recently auditioned with the Packers, Saints, Vikings and Bears. If reports are to be believed, the Jets have just signed former Bears OLC coach Clint Hurtt, so it seems likely that these two are connected and Hurtt liked what he saw from Beltre.

Beltre has played 3 years in Calgary, playing on both defense and special teams. Beltre recorded 3 sacks and 15 tackles in 2016 to go along with 4 special teams tackles.

Beltre played his college ball at Towson, starting 40 games in total. During his time with the Tigers he amassed 232 tackles, 38 tackles for a loss and 11 sacks. After going undrafted in 2013, he was signed by the San Diego Chargers, before being cut when rosters needed to be trimmed. After having a brief stint with Oakland, he moved to Canada. Now he'll get another crack at the NFL.
