Mike Garafolo indicates the Jets might look to the college game for candidates to fill their vacant offensive coordinator position after the Eagles denied them permission to speak with John DeFilippo.
So much for that idea for NYJ. He wasn't the sole candidate but they liked him a lot. They might even look to the college ranks. Stay tuned. https://t.co/BPEy6ma1Cx

This is pretty thin, but it is worth mentioning because Garafolo was the first to mention the Jets’ interest in DeFilippo. That ended up panning out. The Jets showed interest and requested permission to interview him with the Eagles.
Where would the Jets look in the college game? That is difficult to say. I am hoping it is a sign they might be willing to think about installing some creative outside of the box concepts on offense. Thinking in college is more innovative and less rigid than what you see in the pros. We will have to see which candidates if any the Jets look at and which offensive philosophies they have.
There are no confirmed candidates for the position at the present moment.
