Jets Work Out Aaron Murray

The Jets worked out free agent quarterback Aaron Murray yesterday.

I was actually a fan of Murray’s as a Draft prospect a few years back. He was a four year starter in the SEC at Georgia and had a successful college career in a pro style offense. Murray was a fifth round pick by the Chiefs in 2014, although his Draft stock might have been hurt by a torn ACL he suffered late in his senior year.

The Chiefs cut Murray in September. He briefly caught on with the Cardinals practice squad. He ended the season on the Eagles practice squad.

While I will tell you I liked Murray coming out of school, it does say something that three organizations have essentially let him go in the last year. The Chiefs and Cardinals cut him, and the Eagles have not agreed to a new deal with him. There tends to be a reason players are on the market at this time of year.

I can’t blame the Jets for taking a look, though.
