The matchup for Super Bowl LI is set. The Atlanta Falcons will take on the New England Patriots.
Today was a letdown if you did not have a team in the running. It was a bad day of football with a pair of noncompetitive games. The Falcons crushed the Packers in Atlanta 44-21. In the nightcap, the Patriots blew out the Steelers in Foxborough 36-17.
From a Jets perspective, this Super Bowl isn’t pretty. Obviously any Patriots Super Bowl is not going to be a pleasant one. On the other side, you have a Falcons team coached by Dan Quinn. Quinn interviewed and was considered for the Jets head coaching job two years ago. The team ultimately went with Todd Bowles. While Bowles’ story is far from over, after the year he and the Jets just had, there will be plenty of talk about whether the Jets should have tried to hire Quinn instead.
