The Jets fired a lot of their coaching staff last week. They have filled their vacant defensive backs coach spot with Dennard Wilson according to Jason LaCanfora. For whatever it’s worth, LaCanfora also seems to think pretty highly of him.
Jets getting a very good coach in Dennard Wilson. Former Rams assistant coach joining Todd Bowles staff

Wilson comes from the Rams, where he was the defensive backs coach the last two seasons. Jeff Fisher’s firing made him available. He started with the Rams in 2012 as a defensive quality control coach, a title he held through 2014 until he was promoted. A quality control coach is an entry level coaching job that performs tasks such as breaking down film on opponents a few weeks down the line.
He started his career in the NFL as a scout from 2008 through 2012 with the Chicago Bears. It isn’t that uncommon for somebody early in his career to transition between the front office and coaching staff.
Wilson will have his work cut out for him trying to help rebuild a secondary in shambles.
