SNF: Packers vs Lions Game Thread

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Sunday Night Football, Week 17. The 2016-17 regular season finale. Tonight we have a great game to end the season. The 9-6 Green Bay Packers travel to Detroit, Michigan to take on the 9-6 Detroit Lions at Ford Field in Detroit.

This is how a football season should end. One game for a division championship. The winner wins the NFC North, gets the third seed in the NFC playoffs and gets their first playoff game at home. The loser gets a wild card spot and will go on the road for the playoffs.

The Lions come into the game having lost their last two games, both on the road, both against playoff teams. Their star quarterback, Matthew Stafford, is ailing with an injury to his throwing hand. A loss to the Packers would complete a late season collapse after the Lions appeared to be in position to challenge for the #1 seed in the NFC a couple of weeks ago. The Lions were winners of eight out of nine prior to their current two game losing streak and own a 6-1 record at home this year.

The Packers come into the game riding a hot streak. After losing five of six in the middle of the season and seemingly taking themselves out of playoff contention, the Packers righted the ship just in time. They come into the game riding a five game winning streak and feature a white hot future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers at the helm. The Packers have struggled to a 3-4 record on the road this year, but have won their last two road contests.

Lions vs. Packers for a division crown. The playoffs start early in Detroit.

Enjoy the game everyone. As always we ask that you neither ask for nor provide links to illegal streaming sites.
