In case you missed it, the Jets were awarded four players claimed off waivers on Sunday.
To make room for these players, they had to clear four roster spots. One of them was Khiry Robinson, who apparently broke a leg and is destined for injured reserve. The other three were 2014 third round pick Dexter McDougle, Dominique Williams, and Ronald Martin.
Teams were able to begin signing players to their practice squads yesterday. The maximum number of players a team is allowed to have on the practice squad is ten. You might not be surprised to learn that the Jets signed seven players, leaving three openings on the practice squad.
McDougle, Williams, and Martin all do have practice squad eligibility so it figures the Jets will try to get the three onto the practice squad. They will need to clear waivers first.
We should have some sort of resolution on this by the end of the day.
