Jets Claim Four Players Off Waivers

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The Jets have been awarded four players off waivers according to Mike Florio.

It is no surprise to see couple of tight ends claimed given what the Jets lack at the position. Bowman was ironically a college teammate of Wes Saxton, another tight end cut yesterday by the Jets and a practice squad candidate.

There are no offensive linemen, an area where depth is a major concern. This does not necessarily mean the Jets neglected the area in waiver claims. Remember, there are nineteen teams with a higher priority. If the Jets claimed a player, but one of the nineteen ahead of them claimed the same player, that guy would go to the other team.

The Jets will now need to cut four players to make room for the guys they have claimed.
