Eric Decker won't play this weekend when the Jets host the Seahawks after being diagnosed with a partially torn rotator cuff. He's officially been listed as week-to-week but it wouldn't be all that surprising to see Decker miss several weeks with this tricky injury.
Although surgery is not planned at the moment, Bowles would not rule out that possibility down the road. The hope is that Decker can get some rest and rehab naturally without the need for surgery.
Decker has been a popular target for QB Ryan Fitzpatrick over the last year. So far this year he's recorded 9 receptions for 194 yards and 2 touchdowns. A strong start following a year where he eclipsed 1,000 yards and totaled 12 scores. Decker has worked from the slot as well as out wide and the Jets will need to adjust their game plan without him.
This does mean that Quincy Enunwa will get an even bigger opportunity to build on his impressive start, and pre-season stand-out Robby Anderson will get on the field more as the #3 wide receiver.
Lets hope this isn't something that keeps Decker out for too long, but at the same time...lets hope that Enunwa and Anderson grab this opportunity with both hands.
