The final roster move the Jets made before the final cutdown to 53 was placing starting right tackle Breno Giacomini on the PUP list.
We have placed RT Breno Giacomini on the Reserve/PUP list.

Giacomini started training camp on the list. During camp, he was eligible to come off at any point. That changes when a player starts the regular season on the list. Giacomini will now need to sit out the first six weeks. After the sixth week of the season, the Jets will have a five week window where he can start practicing. Once a player is practicing, a 21 day window begins for the team to activate him to the 53 man roster. If at the end of the 21 day window, the team decides to not activate the player (or if the player doesn't start practicing in the five week practice window), the player spends the rest of the season on the PUP list.
Either Brent Qvale or Ben Ijalana is expected to start in Giacomini's place.
