Jets Roster Cutdown Live Update Tracker

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

The Jets did not make any of their cuts on Friday, leaving the team until 4:00 p.m. Eastern today to clear 22 spots on the roster. They must get down to 53 players.

In theory, the Jets could clear out a spot or two by placing an injured player on IR or by keeping Breno Giacomini on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list to start the season. The bulk of the moves today will be cuts, however.

After that, the players cut with under four years of NFL experience will be placed on waivers, where any of them could be claimed by the 31 other teams. Anybody who clears waivers and becomes a free agent could be signed to the practice squad, provided they meet the eligibility requirements for the practice squad.
