New York, New York (or shall I say Florham Park, New Jersey) has become Tight End, Tight End once again as the Jets have claimed Austin Sefarian-Jenkins off of waivers.
The #Jets were awarded former #Bucs TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins on waivers, source said. A new start.

Sefarian-Jenkins was a 2nd round pick of the Tampa Bay Bucs back in 2014, going a few spots before the Jets themselves drafted TE Jace Amaro. Jenkins had struggled and lost his starting job in Tampa, and after a DUI arrest the Bucs decided to completely part ways with Jenkins. Dirk Koetter also said something cryptic to the effect that there's "more to the release" than the DUI.
That said, Sefarian-Jenkins, or as he's commonly referred to as ASJ, is an uber-talented player with a 6-6, 260 pound frame, good wheels, and great athleticism, and he instantly becomes the most talented TE on the roster. He was also a J-N favorite on draft day. Let's hope that a fresh start with the Jets will help ASJ reach his potential.
