Here’s How the Jets’ Competition in the AFC East Did in Week 3

Sunday’s game was ugly for the Jets in Kansas City. Unfortunately, the news did not get better across the rest of the AFC East as the team’s three competitors all won their Week 3 games.

The Patriots were the first team to win this week. They registered their victory Thursday night at home against the Texans. New England shut out the Texans in a 27-0 win, registering a blowout win despite starting third stringer Jacoby Brissett. Brissett didn’t exactly dominate, throwing only for 103 yards. It didn’t matter as the Texans fumbled away two kickoffs and looked stagnant on offense.

The Bills pulled off a surprising home upset, beating the Arizona Cardinals soundly by a 33-18 margin. Buffalo needed that win. This was a team with its back against the wall after starting 0-2 and already firing its offensive coordinator. LeSean McCoy ran for 110 yards and two touchdowns, while Buffalo’s defense intercepted Carson Palmer 4 times.

Despite their best efforts, the Dolphins simply could not lose to the Browns. Jay Ayjai ran for an 11 yard touchdown in overtime to seal the 30-24 run. Miami overcame a blown 11 point fourth quarter lead and a Ryan Tannehill fumble late in the fourth quarter that set the Browns up for a game-winning field goal try. Cleveland missed it and lost in the extra period.
