How Did the Jets' AFC East Competition Do in Week 1?

Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

How did the rest of the AFC East do in Week 1? There was good news and bad news for the Jets.

Week 2 opponent Buffalo played an ugly game in a loss to the Ravens. The Bills were held to 7 points and 160 yards of offense in a 13-7 loss. The Bills averaged only 3.3 yards per play.

The Dolphins suffered a heartbreaking last second loss to the Seahawks in Seattle. A 2 yard touchdown pass from Russell Wilson to Doug Baldwin with 31 seconds left gave the Seahawks a 12-10 win. Seattle's game-winning drive in the final minutes went for 14 plays and required a pair of fourth down conversions. The Dolphins also had a chip shot field goal blocked like the Jets did on Sunday.

The news was not all good as New England defeated Arizona 23-21 behind Jimmy Garoppolo. Chandler Catanzaro missed a 47 yard field goal, perhaps due to a bad snap in the final minute of an exciting game that saw a couple of fourth quarter lead changes. Garoppolo threw for 264 yards and a touchdown.

1. New England 1-0

2. Jets 0-1

2. Buffalo 0-1

2. Miami 0-1
