The compete level was high between Darrelle Revis and Brandon Marshall today at Jets practice.
11-on-11: Revis blankets Marshall and B-Marsh not pleased with the official. Was looking for a flag. Revis in his grill. #NYJ

Revis following Marshall all over field in team drills. No completions yet. Two are going AT it #Jets
— Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) August 5, 2016
Revis came to play today. VERY physical with Marshall in 11-on-11. Just used surgically repaired right wrist to jam him at LOS. #NYJ
— Chris Lopresti (@CLoprestiWFAN) August 5, 2016
Fitz goes deep to Marshall... Textbook coverage from Revis who bats it away. Two get up jawing. This is fun to watch. #Jets
— Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) August 5, 2016
Now Fitz tries Marshall deep. Another PBU for Revis. Fitz 0-3 targeting Marshall vs. Revis. #NYJ
— Chris Lopresti (@CLoprestiWFAN) August 5, 2016
Tight coverage from Revis again as Marshall has been stranded on the island. 0/4. #Jets
— Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) August 5, 2016
Revenge for Marshall. Not sure if it was a double move but he smokes Revis for long catch-and-run TD. LOTS of trash talk out here. #NYJ
— Chris Lopresti (@CLoprestiWFAN) August 5, 2016
Marshall beats Revis again. Credit s perfect back-shoulder throw. Gets up jawing to entire defense. So much fire today #Jets
— Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) August 5, 2016
Marshall really chatty this practice. He and Gilchrist going back and forth. Gilchrist: "Come across the middle!!" #Jets
— Dennis Waszak Jr. (@DWAZ73) August 5, 2016
And Brandon Marshall just took a swing at Darrelle Revis on sideline. Threw at his shoulder area. Both guys had helmets on. Diffused quickly

Fitzpatrick comes over and breaks up the skirmish between Marshall and Revis. Didn't last long. Some salty words exchanged.
— Darryl Slater (@DarrylSlater) August 5, 2016
Marshall still chirping. Getting a little out of hand. It was fun now it's just dumb.
— Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) August 5, 2016
Here is what happened after the practice.
Bowles: "Yeah, it's about that time of camp." #NYJ
— Chris Lopresti (@CLoprestiWFAN) August 5, 2016
Bowles says they don't condone taking a swing at a teammate but things got chippy and they quickly put the fire out. #NYJ
— Chris Lopresti (@CLoprestiWFAN) August 5, 2016
"We're not going to punch anybody. You can talk as much as you." -- Todd Bowles on the Marshall-Revis stuff. Looked like open-hand swing.
— Darryl Slater (@DarrylSlater) August 5, 2016
Bowles on Marshall/Revis: "I don't think it was an outburst. I think it was two good players going at it." Later said, "love it." #NYJ
— Chris Lopresti (@CLoprestiWFAN) August 5, 2016
Marshall says Revis punched him first. #Jets
— Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) August 5, 2016
Marshall confirms he brought up Hopkins #Jets
— Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) August 5, 2016
Brandon Marshall: Darrelle and I are super close... Our real opponent is going to be Cincinnati and the guys after that... It's done.
— Eric Allen (@eallenjets) August 5, 2016
"The thing I feel bad about is cursing at the ref" - Marshall
— Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) August 5, 2016
.@BMarshall: "We're both competitors. Come from the same neighborhood, cut from same cloth. What happens on the field stays on the field."
— #JetsCamp (@nyjets) August 5, 2016
Marshall says Revis was doing things to him that you'd do to a rookie #Jets
— Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) August 5, 2016
Marshall says Revis is back... He's seeing everything amazingly, breaking up a lot of balls... This is the most competitive we've been.
— Eric Allen (@eallenjets) August 5, 2016
Marshall insists that he and Revis are friends and close. "There isn't going to be a brawl. We are going to move forward" #Jets
— JetsInsider.com (@JetsInsider) August 5, 2016
Marshall said it started today with Revis taking a slap/swipe at him in 1-on-1. Carried over to team drills. Heated competition. #NYJ
— Chris Lopresti (@CLoprestiWFAN) August 5, 2016
Darrelle Revis will not speak to the media today, per team spokesman. #NYJ
— Chris Lopresti (@CLoprestiWFAN) August 5, 2016
This is the type of thing that happens from time to time in camp. I think Chris Nimbley of Jets Insider had the best take.
Every year a "fight" breaks out at every camp and every time it's needlessly made into a much bigger deal than it was
— Chris Nimbley (@Cnimbley) August 5, 2016
Also there were at least four or five other "fights" that broke out in practice today #nyj
— Chris Nimbley (@Cnimbley) August 5, 2016
Outside of that, the big news for me is that Revis is feeling comfortable enough with his wrist to be physical.
