As we approach the 2016 season, we are going to profile the players on the roster. Today we look at Chandler Worthy.
Name: Chandler Worthy
Number: 16
Year With Jets: 1st
Projected Role: Possible punt return candidate and backup slot receiver
His 2015: Worthy got into 3 games with the Houston Texans as a undrafted rookie and registered 3 catches for 14 yards. He was later waived and re-signed to the Houston practice squad. The Jets added him on a reserve/futures deal after the season.
2016 will be a success if: Worthy can carve out some sort of useful role on the team. He has flashed at various points of training camp and the preseason, but the odds do seem to be against him. Jeremy Ross seems to be a favorite as a punt returner, and the coaching staff likes bigger slot receivers like Eric Decker. Worthy is only 5'9".
Odds of making the roster: Unlikely (25-50%)
