Fantasy football draft season is upon us. It is time for us to all dust off our strategy manuals.
One of the biggest strategic decisions a fantasy player has to make is when to draft a kicker and a defense. Some people like to make sure they get one of the best to gain an advantage.
I take the opposite approach. I don’t think the difference between a great kicker or defense and an OK one is as great as the difference at other position. I am perfectly content to wait until my last two picks to grab my kicker and my defense. These might be the easiest spots to find sleepers because of the way performance can fluctuate.
Even if things don’t pan out, I work the waiver wire and find favorable matchups each week. This strategy has served me well.
What are your thoughts? When do you pick your kicker and defense in fantasy?
