Jets starting right tackle Breno Giacomini has been on the physically unable to perform list since the start of training camp with a back injury. Yesterday, he addressed the media and indicated he still is not sure as to when he will be ready. It might not be before Week 1.
Breno Giacomini said he will play at some point this season but acknowledged missing start of season and/or PUP is possible.

The Jets are not sure either.
Bowles on whether RT Breno Giacomini will be available WK1: "I have no idea. It's getting close and he hasn't practiced yet, so we'll see."

This was an important week for Giacomini. In an ideal world, he would have been able to practice and play in Saturday's dress rehearsal against the Giants. There are only two weeks before the start of the regular season, and Giacomini presumably still has to get himself into football shape. Each day that goes by without his return makes it less likely we will see him Week 1.
This is a golden opportunity for guys like Ben Ijalana and Brent Qvale to step up.
