As we approach the 2016 season, we are going to profile the players on the roster. Today we look at Darryl Morris.
Name: Darryl Morris
Number: 26
Year With Jets: 1st
Projected Role: Competing for cornerback depth spot/special teams
His 2015: Morris appeared in 12 games for the Texans primarily as a special teamer. He also served as a backup at cornerback. After the season, Houston did not offer the restricted free agent a contract tender. He then signed with the Jets and general manager Mike Maccagnan, who was in Houston's front office when the Texans first claimed Morris off waivers in 2014.
2016 will be a success if: Morris can make the active roster for the Jets, provide quality depth at cornerback, and contribute as a special teamer. He does seem to be on the outside looking in at the moment.
Odds of making the roster: Longshot (less than 25%)
