As we approach the 2016 season, we are going to profile the players on the roster. Today we look at Khiry Robinson.
Name: Khiry Robinson
Number: 31
Year With Jets: 1st
Projected Role: Third string running back
His 2015: Robinson appeared in 8 games for the Saints, rushing for 180 yards and 4 touchdowns on 56 carries. His season ended with a broken leg against the Giants. The Saints let him leave their deep backfield, and the Jets scooped him up on a one year deal.
2016 will be a success if: Robinson provides the Jets with a quality third back. There was some degree of irony in Robinson signing with the Jets. He drew some comparisons to Chris Ivory in New Orleans for his small school pedigree and his physical running style. He also in some ways took Ivory's role after the back came to the Jets. The Jets don't really need Robinson to be Ivory, though. They just need him to succeed where Stevan Ridley and Zac Stacy failed last year, providing the team with a handful of quality carries when everybody is healthy or to step in and play well when one of the top two backs is down.
Odds of making the roster: Probable (75%-99%)
