Jets Roster Analysis: Can Kevin Short Stick Around?

Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

As we approach the 2016 season, we are going to profile the players on the roster. Today we look at Kevin Short.

Name: Kevin Short

Number: 32

Year With Jets: 2nd

Projected Role: Competing for backup cornerback spot

His 2015: Short signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent but failed to make the cut on their roster. He signed with Seattle's practice squad after that but was released in November. At that point, Short signed on to be a member of the Jets' practice squad. He signed a reserve/future contract at the end of the season to stay on with the Jets for training camp.

2016 will be a success if: Short earns another stint on the practice squad. There are a number of players making strong pushes to stick on the practice squad so it would be something of an accomplishment for him.

Odds of making the roster: Longshot (less than 25%)
