Jets Roster Analysis: Can Dominique Williams Make a Push to Stay?

Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

As we approach the 2016 season, we are going to profile the players on the roster. Today we look at Dominique Williams.

Name: Dominique Williams

Number: 35

Year With Jets: 1st

Projected Role: Competing for backup running back spot

His 2015: Williams was cut by the Vikings before the start of the regular season, failing to make the 53 man roster after running for 117 yards on 29 carries in the preseason. He failed to catch on with another team either on a roster or practice squad. The Jets signed him to a reserve/future contract, bringing the prolific college back from Wagner to Gang Green.

2016 will be a success if: Williams can stick on the practice squad. The backfield seems close to set for the Jets. If Williams can stick around and get some reps on a practice field, it would be the first step in carving out a career.

Odds of making the roster: Longshot (less than 25%)
