Carpenter began training camp on the PUP list due to a hamstring injury. It was not expected to keep him there for long. The Jets likely decided to use extra caution since they were just beginning practices for the season. Players can come off the PUP list in training camp whenever they are ready to suit and up and play.
Five other Jets remain on the PUP list including Muhammad Wilkerson and Carpenter's linemate Breno Giacomini. Todd Bowles indicated today that no other players were close to coming off the list.
