Jets Roster Analysis: Introducing Craig Watts

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

As we approach the 2016 season, we are going to profile the players on the roster. Today we look at Craig Watts.

Name: Craig Watts

Number: 62

Year With Jets: 1st

Projected Role: Competing for a backup interior line roster spot

His 2015: Watts spent the season bouncing between the Chargers' active roster and practice squad. Following a December release, he caught on with the Jets on a reserve/future deal. The undrafted free agent out of West Texas A&M will be entering his third NFL training camp after spending the first two with San Diego.

2016 will be a success if: Watts makes the Jets and provides adequate depth on the interior line. The Jets have a lot of offensive linemen who likely will be cut but could conceivably carve out a big role if they play surprisingly well in training camp. Watts is one of them.

Odds of making the roster: Longshot (less than 25%)
