Jets Roster Analysis: Can Ronald Martin Make the Team?

Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

As we approach the 2016 season, we are going to profile the players on the roster. Today we look at Ronald Martin.

Name: Ronald Martin

Number: 42

Year With Jets: 2nd

Projected Role: Competing for backup safety spot

His 2015: Martin was in training camp with Seattle as an undrafted free agent. He failed to make the Seahawks' final 53 man roster, and the Jets claimed him off waivers. Martin then bounced between the active roster and the practice squad before the Jets brought him back to camp for a second season.

2016 will be a success if: Martin makes the roster and adds to the safety depth the team has. That might be easier said than done. Martin's competition includes Dion Bailey and Rontez Miles who played well when called upon last season and Doug Middleton who is reportedly having a strong training camp.

Odds of making the roster: Unlikely (25-50%)
