As we approach the 2016 season, we are going to profile the players on the roster. Today we look at Tanner Purdum
Name: Tanner Purdum
Year With Jets: 7th
Projected Role: Long snapper
His 2015: Purdum had a successful sixth season with the Jets. His long snaps were largely on target.
2016 will be a success if: Purdum avoids any major miscues as a long snapper. It isn't that hard to find a quality long snapper. The Jets got Purdum from an NAIA school. If your long snapper makes too many mistakes, there are many available on the street. The fact Purdum is entering his seventh season shows the quality of his work with the Jets. There were some nervous people when the team let James Dearth go in 2010, but Purdum stepped right in and has done good work since day one. I don't think many Jets fans have a bad thing to say about the guy.
Odds of making the roster: Lock (>99%)
