The Jets won their preseason opener tonight over the Jacksonville Jaguars 17-13 tonight at MetLife Stadium. Gang Green has begun the preseason with a 1-0 record. As you might remember, the Jets were blown out in their preseason opener a year ago and put together a 10-6 season so this does not mean a whole lot.
Ryan Fitzpatrick was 3 for 4 for 72 yards. Geno Smith was 8 for 14 with 79 yards and a touchdown. Bryce Petty was 7 for 14 for 93 yards.
Charone Peake led the Jets with 4 catches. He recorded 45 yards and a touchdown. Quincy Enunwa added 2 catches for 69 yards to spark a touchdown drive for the first team.
Doug Middleton and Rontez Miles led the Jets defensively with 6 tackles apiece. Darron Lee, Julian Stanford, and Leonard Williams had sacks.
We will have more analysis to come this evening and tomorrow.
