Todd Bowles spoke a bit about the team's quarterback depth chart yesterday. There are no great surprises.
Todd Bowles states the obvious by saying Ryan Fitzpatrick is the starter.

"I think he'll be the Week 1 starter unless something drastic happens," Bowles said of Fitzpatrick. Barring injury, Smith is backup. #Jets

Todd Bowles says Geno Smith is the No. 2 QB unless Petty, Hackenberg have "great" performances. #Jets

Bowles on Geno Smith: He's here... Fitz is 1, Geno is 2, Petty is 3 and Hackenberg is 4.

At this point, the real action might be for the number three spot. If Christian Hackenberg outplays Bryce Petty despite Petty having a year in the system and NFL practices under his belt, the Baylor product's roster spot could be dicey. If either Petty or Hackenberg outplay Smith, that probably means the end of Geno with the Jets.
I think the Jets might end up keeping four quarterbacks, though.
