Jets Roster Analysis: Jarvis Harrison Might Be Competing for a Starting Job

As we approach the 2016 season, we are going to profile the players on the roster. Today we look at Jarvis Harrison.

Name: Jarvis Harrison

Number: 64

Year With Jets: 2nd

Projected Role: Possible competing for starting right guard job

His 2015: A fifth round pick out of Texas A&M, Harrison spent the start of his rookie year on the bench. He was then cut in November and signed to the practice squad. The Jets signed him to a reserve/future deal at the end of the season.

2016 will be a success if: Harrison shows up at camp and plays well enough to wrest away the starting job at right guard from Brian Winters and then plays well enough to keep it. A lot of people feel Harrison has ability. After a year in the system, can he show enough to beat out an undistinguished group of competitors? Mike Maccagnan has stated his belief that teams need to be able to find and develop offensive linemen deeper in the Draft. Harrison is his first attempt to do so. We don't know anything about Harrison. He could start for this team. He could end up being cut.

Odds of making the roster: 50/50
