Report: Jets Have Multiple Offers on Table for Ryan Fitzpatrick

Manish Mehta reports the Jets have multiple offers for free agent quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to choose from.

The Daily News has learned that the Jets have given the veteran quarterback multiple offers with the hope of bringing back their undisputed leader from a year ago before the start of training camp this week.

The Jets' three-year, $24 million offer (which is below market value but includes $15 million in guarantees) has dominated the conversation for the better part of two months, but the organization has presented at least one other option for Fitzpatrick, whose franchise-record 31 touchdowns helped Todd Bowles to 10 wins in his rookie season.

We might be reaching the end of the line one way or another. The Jets have said their deadline for a Fitzpatrick deal is at the start of training camp. Fitzpatrick doesn't seem to have any alternatives short of sitting out. I guess he could sit out and see whether another team suffers a serious injury at quarterback, but a lot of teams might not have the cap space to meet his demand or even be willing to meet them.
