As we approach the 2016 season, we are going to profile the players on the roster. Today we look at Claude Pelon.
Name: Claude Pelon
Number: 66
Year With Jets: 1st
Projected Role: Camp body hoping to impress his way into a backup interior defensive line spot
His 2015: A college teammate of Leonard Williams, Pelon registered 26 tackles and 1.5 sacks in his final year at USC. He didn't get drafted and caught on with the Jets as a free agent.
2016 will be a success if: Pelon shows enough at camp to earn a spot on the practice squad and manages to stick there all season. This is not the best team for an undeveloped interior defensive line prospect. The Jets have as much young talent there as any team in the leauge. Pelon's roster chances are slim. The best he likely can hope for is some time to develop on the practice squad.
Odds of making the roster: Unlikely (less than 25%)
